Just ran my new Mission last night and it was fantastic, a big step forward over my previous car.

But heres a question if anyone cares to answer -

What is the difference between running this gearing:

89/22 or 83/20

They are both approx the same ratio, but which is better suited to a small, NOT very grippy carpet track?

Is it better to run a large spur or a small spur?

83/20 will make the car accelerate slightly quicker and put less strain on the motor, not really a factor when running these size of pinions but when your runnning 30 teeth ones then the smaller the better ;)

IMHO the spur and pinion size make no real difference - its the overall gear ratio that counts. And so many other things in terms of car set up, speed controller settings and driving style...
