Guys,
Here is a method of glueing tyres I got from Ronnie who runs Mardaves (I think), but it works well for our wheels. I have slightly revised it based on my method.
1) Cover the rim with masking tape (optional, but makes taking them off when worn out easier)
2) Coat the rim and the inside of the tyre with Evostick
3) Allow 1-2 hours for Evostick to dry fully
4) Coat the outside of the rim with cellulose thinners
5) Quickly slide the tyre onto the rim - I SAID QUICKLY!
6) Leave overnight for thinners to fully evoporate and glue to set
7) True to size
I tried it with 2 sets of tyres with no problems. The whole of the tyre is glued to the rim, rather thn just the edge via the fit dry and shove evostick around the edge method.

We run 1/12th oval and use this for all our foam tyres. Hope it helps you guys ;D

1/12th oval; don't knock it till you've tried it. Still the class I enjoy most!

Dave,
I use a similar method for doing mine, just don't bother with masking tape.
1, Coat the rim and tyre with Evo stick
2, Leave them for about 15 mins to go tacky
3, Use the thinners on the tyre and rim so that the evo stick looses its first contact (impact) qualities
4, Get the tyres on the rims (QUICKLY)
5, Leave them in the garage for as long as possible to give the glue chance to take hold, the thinners to get out of the rubber and the rubber to cure. 1 - 2 days normally.
6, True them
7, Race and chunk them on the first run!! Well that normally happens for me!!
To get them off the rim,
1, True them down to leave as little rubber on the rim as possible, I normally get them to about 6mm larger dia than the rim.
2, Sit them in a coffee pot with some old cellulose thinners in for about 30 mins, this soaks them off the rim.
3, Drop them on the tyre lathe and clean any glue/rubber off with a bit of sand paper.
4, Glue some fresh rubber on.
I think Jim (please correct me if I get any of this wrong Jim) normally dry fits them, opens up a gap between the rim and tyre using a screwdriver which he then fills with evo stick (from a tube, not the pot) and then twists the driver to spread the glue over the contact surface. I'm not sure ho long he leaves them before truing them

Hi
Quite correct, not as messy as it might sound, and the answer to the last bit is anything between 10 mins at an event and months when i find a pair left in the back of the garage...

if you wrap insulation tape around the entire contact surface of the rim, you can then apply your glue to the tape and carry on as before. Obvioudly, when you come to remove your tyre, assuming the wheel is still in one piece, simply cut the tyre and peel it all off. Simple.
It doesn't come unstuck when you are racing either.

Wow! All far too complicated.
1. Dry fit tyres.
2. Use Bostik (the tube with the steel nozzle). Force the nozzle between the tyre and the rim and move around the circumference. The glue is forced out by the rotating action.
3. Leave to dry.
To remove cut across the width of the tyre and peel off the foam.

The problem with your method Derek is that there is a tendency for the tyre to lift on the edge after several weekends racing - I used to do it that way!
This method ensures glue over the whole with of the tyre, not just a few mm each side.

Should be able to get cellulose thinners from any DIY shop (B&Q, homebase etc...)

Halfords is the best place to get the thinners, it's the stuff the use for car body work.
