IRS Pin cushions

Has anyone managed to get the pins out of the "blue" alloy drive shafts so you can put the IRS ones in?

I've tried but could get them to move. When I tried the black composite drive shfts, the pin came out easily.

They are an interference fit, you will need to heat the end of the drive shaft with a blow torch or similar, the aluminium will expand faster than the steel pin and the pin will become loose enough to remove.

Wooah, thanks Marcus - I think I'll put up with replacing the outdrives from time to time, I'd probably set fire to the place!!!!

i may have the answer?
if you have a small "g" clamp ,just wind in with a small
nut on the other side of the driveshaft and the pin will
push out, no heat required
