Hello again - its me again with the Tamiya XGB Subaru.

I have been told that I should not use re-chargeable batteries in the car and the transmitter.

Can anyone please advise on this - I mean is it right - and what are the problems from using it

Cheers

Ian

I never really use rechargables in my tamiya-especially in the transmitter as ive had many problems inc terminals not touching, malfuntion etc so its not worth it.

Using 4 rechargable AAs in a nitro car is not a great idea, wont break anything as such, but because rechargables only give out 1.2v you only get a 4.8v supply for your servos, where as good quality non-rechargable ones (not the ones on the market, £1 for 100) they will give you 1.5v each therfore a 6v supply. This is why the top nitro cars like Yokomo GT4, TC3Nitro ect use a 5cell rechargable pack to get 6v.

Again using them in the handset wont do any harm, lets face it most of the top handsets come with nicads already in. You will probly find normal cells last a bit longer (depending on the rechargeables youve got) and might give you a stronger signal.
