Picked this up from the thread on High Wycombe hot rods.
I think this could work for TC races at WLRC. the top 19T driver as cop car in the stock class and top mod driver in the 19T class.
sounds like a refreshing idea.

How to compete:
The Cop car will be a modified Mardave V12 with a six-cell battery, have a very good driver, and a real blue flashing light. The Police car will start a lap down from the Robbers (that’s you), and the aim of the game is to out-run or stay ahead of the Cop car. If the Police car over-takes you, it means that you have been caught, but this does not mean that your race night is over: you have to try to slow down the cop car (non-contact please, we are hot-rods, not bangers! ), and let the others who have not yet been caught get away. Drivers who aren’t caught by the Cop go into the final. The winner of this final receives a trophy and a stock-specials prize. The winner will then become Defending Champion of the Fifth Week Stock-Specials Night.

Keep your eyes peeled for more information on the Stock-Specials Nights.

So when are you going to come back hot-rod racing then, Rob?!

We've now got a selection of wlrc regulars who race every tuesday, including; Kerswell, Holloway, Stuart & James Cann & Matt Digby!

You were quite quick when you raced before; would be good to see you back at the club! We have better carpet, and the club is now run by a proper committee!

Cheers, wycombe is tricky to get to in the week. Especially when the football is on.
I think one night it took me 1.5 hours to get there from Basingstoke, the 404 is nastyyyyy!

Oh Mark, if you have any tips on tuning a sealed motor, like a 540 can you drop me a pm? Thanks

They're resurfacing the roundabout at the M40/A404 juction, so when thats done things may be a bit easier, as they've redesigned the sliproad so that traffic coming onto the northbound M40 from the A404 doesn't have to negotiate the roundabout.

Progress Eh!

I remember being stuck on a really slow A404/M40 in the baking summer. My brother had an old MK1 fiesta and the thermostat was broken for the Kenlowe engine cooling fan, We had to have the blowers on full hot to cool the engine for about 45 mins. thats how fond I am of the A404!

No aircon in those days, just open the window.

Yes, although we do a few 'mods' to the car, run decent electronics, tyres etc... and polycarbonate shells.

Come along to high wycombe one tuesday evening and have a look!

Get out your BRCA handbook, and read the 1/12th oval construction rules for hot-rods. They are what we run to.

The chassis, rear pod, axle and front end stay as kit, and we use 540 mabuchi motors. ESC's are allowed (max £60 and must have reverse). Any BRCA legal cells (4-cell packs), any servo and radio gear, any foam tyres.

We use lexan (clear) shells; they're lighter and more flexible, so dont crack as easily. The ABS (white) ones are horrible! Havent used one for 6 years at least!
