Can anyone help me?
I have recently bought a F of C and was wondering whether there are any hot up tips for running stock. I understand that the low ratio pulleys and thin belts will help but is there anything else?

thos are certainly the first two things that would be on my list , possibly some slightly stiffer springs which i found helped (indoors foams on carpet) apart from those ots pretty great straight outta the box.

The only other thing I would recommend is the locked layshaft. In stock it really improves acceleration.

Hi matt
How can it improve acceleration?? The 1-way layshaft and fixed layshaft act exactly the same on power don't they?? It could mean that you were running your 1-way layshaft too loose and losing rear grip into corners therefore not having the traction as you leave it?

When I ran the adjustable layshaft the pulley would never lock completely as the nut is only nylon, this means that you will always have some slip in the bearing. On high grip surfaces (Foams on Carpet) I found that the locked layshaft does aid the accelleration. Also it is lighter and a lighter rotating mass always helps.

Put it in the oven at gas mark 5 (or equivalent) for 2 hours... :P
I'd just get the aluminium layshaft, like Matt says it is lighter and does give the car a little more 'punch'.

I agree, one piece layshft, and thats about it, although the spring steel axles are worthwhile (on the front only) as the kit ones can bend in a crash.

Nobody has mentioned the anti roll bars, I use the rear bars to fine tune the car through the fast bits. I have all three sizes and nearly always have one on the car.
I agree with the steel front axles, bit of a pain using a file to get the stock one out during a rebuild.
The hinged top deck works well in the morning when it is cold, change back to the kit top deck as the temp comes up.
