5.8 sounds about right, it is a nats whisker from what I ran at West London and the car was very fast.

Garry, that's what I ran at the Stock Nationals with a Team Almighty Monster 27t.

Guys, don't forget that I can change the layout of the track about 10 different ways if not more, so some of this gearing info maybe not quite right.
I'm an evil sod like that :D
Weather wise it looks like we're in for a good weekend, not so hot that you'll start to melt, but pleasantly warm.
See you at the weekend.

Hi Jon,

Do you know which layout you will be choosing for this weekends STCC ?

Stuart, I've whittled it down to one of several :D I really don't know yet, but there's this little voice in my head which keeps saying "The Reedy Track, BUT anticlockwise" would certainly be different, we've never run it

Anticlockwise sounds an interesting idea would be a good change

To All Concerned :- The track layout for the weekend will be our usual National Track, or as it is more commonly known as The Reedy Track. But after consulting with various parties and having a twisted mind we will be running it in an ANTICLOCKWISE direction. So remember on Saturday when you go to practice, when you put your car down on the main straight point it towards the SHOP.
As this track has never been run "seriously" before there are no lap or race records, so whoever comes out on top in each class could hold new lap and race records.

How are you going to run the grid anticlockwise, won't it run into the corner?

Fear not Colin all will be explained at drivers briefing :D Just practice turning left a lot more than you're used to :D

Sounds like it is gonna be a blinder. Col - check with D3m0n (all I will say) regards the chassis.

As for running anticlockwise, im used to it, my car is normally rear ended and pointing that way anyhow :)

As for the weather, looks like it will be warm with some showers, though im sure the heat will dry things out just as fast as it lands. However, on that score im sure that the STCC guys will sort out what goes with weather anyhow.

One last thing for Jon, looking at the pics I can't see to well where you can put up gazebo's, is there more land that is not in the pic ?

John, there are about 500acres :D Seriously there is a large car parking area out of view at the bottom of the picture and also an equally large area behind the rostrum. But a word of warning, there is an area fenced off by one of the corners, the reason being that people have had interference problems at this particular bend and by stopping people parking there and erecting gazebos it appears to have cured the problem.

See some of you Saturday and the rest on Sunday, I'll be wearing my trainers with the steel toe caps. :D

John, as this is obviously your first visit to Snett. you don't know about the "unrain dance" that has to be performed by newcomers to the track, just after drivers briefing, all newcomers names are put in a hat and 6 are then drawn out. Then they must skip around the track chanting the special "unrain incantation" and wear a silly hat. If it does rain and hence everyone gets wet, those who performed the "unrain dance" are ceremonially thrown into the lake. :D So it's best not to say that it might rain ;)

If you want to practice the incantation before hand just incase you get picked, it goes like this...... .
I'm a pratt in a hat
What do you think of that
This chant will give us a break
Or I'll end up in the lake :)

Please tell me you are having a laugh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its no fun running the wrong way round any track as most tracks are not designed to be run the wrong way kerb edging ect.......

p.s buy the way i will be bringing my 1 meeting old Tamiya Evo 5 to Snetterton with a for sale sticker on it £200 anyone interested it will be there and a front diff will also be there for £30 thats a bargain total of £230 for the car ran once at West London and a front diff if it sells ill chuck in a servo and old motor also,,,, I bought this car to gain an advantage over my team mate but running the car back to back with my MSX the times were identical and as i love my MSX i have to sell the Evo 5 State of the art car just out ...................

Having spent the day at Snetterton I can confirm that going the wrong way round is good fun. The kerb on the inside of the 1st corner sends you flying if you clip it (new top deck required) and the furthest left corner is almost blind from half of the rostrum, so it's worth fighting for a place on the left. Gearing wise, 2 burnt out motors tells me that with the ambient air temp at 34 and the tarmac at 50+ and the big open track my usual 89t spur and 28t pinion was a wee bit too much. Did average 17.5 sec laps however! As I'm off on hols tomorrow I just thought I'd set some benchmark times so that I can compare when the results are published. Have a great meeting and I'll see you all at Colchester.

.......the furthest left corner is almost blind from half of the rostrum.........

I should think that the whole back of the track will be blind to me - I've been thinking about binoculars strapped to my glasses!!

At least if it rains it will be a good test for my new bespoke waterproofing!

Trevor, the kerbs to the track are the bits painted RED/WHITE anything painted GREEN is the infield and the black bit is the track. If you stay on the black bit and maybe run a couple of wheels on the Red/White bits occasionally you should be ok.

As an aside the track was designed to be run in both directions.

Rain likely later Saturday afternoon, and during the evening/night. Hopefully cleared by morning, then sunny rest of the day. At least thats local BBC weather forecast at 6:55pm tonight.
