Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has setup the standard shocks for the MR-4 BC. Can you get different weight yokomo spring sets?

You can fit the same springs on the plastic BC shocks as you can on the expensive ones, they're the same dimensions. Yokomo do three grades of spring, White, Gold and Silver.

Front from soft to hard goes White, Gold, Silver; rear from soft to hard is Gold, White, Silver. The standard BC has the Silver springs.

I beleive there is a setup from Dave Bailey with standard shocks on the CML web site.

I am using Associated shocks (which are awesome) so can't answer your question sorry.

can you get it setup just as good(or for what I will notice) with the plastic ones and a full set of spaces. Than with the really expensive threaded ones?

I can't see why not as you still have the bleed screws and same pistons, might not quite be as smooth but not that it'd be noticeable on the track, you may find the white springs are better than the silver ones...

Im not sure if Schumacher springs or Associated springs fit over the bodies well, if so then you would have a good choice of springs to try. Im sure BC Rog can answer this.

I would say youd notice a big difference with a top deck and longer wheelbase too if you want to go that far?

can you upgrade the MR-4 std so it has a longer whell base. Also wat advantage is it having a top deck?

Yes, a kit is available to make the std have long wheel base, it consists of new gearbox housing and spacers. When the conversion is on it is easy to revert back to short.

If you grap your car in both hands and twist it, you'll notice it is quite flexible, as the belt cover has no strength and it is asif there is no top deck there atall. A conversion kit is available for this and is easy to fit, it makes the car a lot more rigid, predictable and stable. AND as the chassis doesn't move so much, the belts last longer.

Although flexible can be an advantage on low grip surfaces.
