Couldn't think of anywhere else I should post this so here goes...

Might be a little premature of me but as the whole mini car scene seems to be taking off i was wondering what the likelyhood is of a nitro mini club or at least a mini nitro race being organised somewhere. (with all these new cars coming out it's gonna be hard for clubs and organisers to keep up!)
with the emergence of the nt18 and nt18t surely it is only a matter of time before the likes of losi, associated, hobao etc jump on the bandwagon and bring out there own nitro 1.18 scalers.
So what is the likeyhood of a class being developed for these and also, how have clubs taken to the mini electric scene so far. have clubs started appearing for these mini's yet?

There's a club in bury that runs micro cars on carpet alongside their touring car meetings. I haven't been myself, but rumour has it they get as big a turnout as for the touring cars and the fastest ones with brushless motors can pull similar lap times to the 1:10 touring cars  . Might be worth looking to see if you can find a website for them and its updated.

IMO there wont be enough call for 'micro nitros'. Promoting the electric micro scene is proving hard enough at the moment.

I think a handful of clubs are accepting micros alot more, but only a handful. There is still that group of racers out there that consider micros as toys.

The UK Micro Challenge in April helped promote the micro scene alot I think, and a certain UK RC magazine helped the cause with 6 pages dedicated to the event.

My main concern is that nearly all the manufactuers still dont put much effort into producing them. IMO the best micro at the moment is the Blaze, without a doubt.

Yes, that has been my concern with the micros. the whole 'toy' stigma that is attached to them. I do personally believ that if the cars were available as kit form first and foremost this stigma would be removed to a degree.
anything that just comes out of a box ready to go always feels a little bit like a 'toy'.

I am tempted by the nt18t just for a bit of fun really but it would be nice if they grew in popularity enough to warrant a club racing them. there is certainly potential there i believe.

Time will tell I suppose.

if you have a local club that can run nitro
you only need 3 or 4 people for a heat , then just ask
we started micros with a couple of drivers running them for fun during practice
we do have as many micros as 1/10 now most weeks
started with touring but buggy/trucks seem more popular now

Good idea Andy.

I will ask around, find out if anyone else is running these mini nitro's or contemplating buying one. maybe twist a few arms!
See how things go.
