Hi,

I have just bought a xxx4 and have a couple of questions about it.

What mods are people doing to their xxx4s? Ive seen a few things like revised rear camber link positions etc

What are the best upgrades to buy and why?

Cheers

Alex,

The best way to get the info is to try and see other peoples cars.

If you can, come down to Watford on Sunday and I'll give you the tour of my car !!!
I'm sure Si Reeves, Ellis Stafford and Doughty will all let you look at their cars aswell. They're a good bunch of guys to talk to, very helpful.

PM me if you want a map of how to get there.

if it is a G+ car then just run it a few times, it is a great kit out of the box from what I understand (I dont have one yet)

if not, you simply must get the new Losi shock towers, they have a bit of give in them so they dont snap your chassis, and they have a different shock mounting position (lower) to allow you to get more droop.

if you have the standard car make sure you have the rear shocks on the back, have a look at the G+ manual for some info on this http://www.teamlosi.com/Manuals/xxx4g+_index.htm

but like Tim said, Watford this weekend should be a great meeting, Ellis will be running his new G+ +every other part you could wish to have on it and some 'interesting' ideas on it too! but thats Ellis. I have also made some mods to my car which you might be interested in.

Guys,

Unfortunatley i cant make it to watford this sunday as i am running oxon buggy club. What are the other dates for watford as i would like to try and make it there.

The kit is a g+, its so cool to have all the parts in the kit... I am bit concerned that the inner pivot bin braces may break, i am thinking of replacing them with the alloy versions, on my old xx4 i was forever breaking front bulkheads till i put a b2 brace on the front!

Cheers

I have never broke one of these pivot blocks (plastic), it has normally been the wishbone that has gone first, but that was before the new stronger front wishbones.

I now run the alu ones, they look good, and they seem to work well, but you may be moving the weak point somewhere nasty, I broke a few front gearboxes at the worlds with all the strong bits on the front. though the worlds track was very hard on the car.

to be honest though, the alu ones are not indestructable either, I bent the front bar. I had to replace the whole lot just to be safe as the others may have had a bit of a tweak in them.

hope that helps
