Heating the tyres

Regards the STCC compound tyres, how where people finding heating them at round 1. What temperature did you heat them to, and did you find any detramental effect to the tyre for doing so ?

Reason is I have my lovely new eagle warmers ready for round 2 :D

I heated mine in the car in the footwell with the air blower. My mate wayne heated his in the airconditioned glove compartment in his pugeot. Temp wise we got it so they were nice and warm. Car went well and came 3rd so it must of worked! Who needs tyre warmers!!

I have to admit though I did get some cheap and cheerful Schuey warmers for the next round

i did the same thing except put the tyres (with addative on) on some tin foil and then tried to find the lightest place in the car.

at club meetings i get a tupperware box and put the tin foil inside so no light can get in then make a small hole and put a lamp into the hole, works a treat.
