Hi

Ive seen the post by rwapage 'Been out of the loop for a couple of years'
Im in a similar situation. When I was younger (and still in New Zealand) I was racing a TL01 casualy a couple times a month, and am looking at getting back into it.

I came down to the race this weekend,(26/03/06) had a look around and watched a few races, and basicaly found out where the place is, and what the track is like.
(I was wearing the white jerzey, green vest standing by the burger van)

Im currently setting up a TT01 chassis, getting hopups I think will help performance. Looking at getting into the Stock class, Im still not sure about all the terms, but I think its the standard 540 motor (stock 27T?)

Im just after some info for what I need to race, I have the basic setup at the moment, car (setup and running), remote (tho not 3 sets of crystals yet), charger and batterys.

At this stage im just trying to get racing with my car at a mid level setup so I can put up at least some sort of challenge. Then building on it from there.
Tho maybe I cant do that with the TT01 chassis?

I do see there is a beginner day in a couple of weeks, which I should make it to. But if things go well there, where does it go from there?

Thanks

Kenny

Hi Kenny

One step at a time is best, sign up for the beginners meeting and have fun !

The guys will be there to ensure you have as good a day as possible and will be able to advise you as how best to proceed for the rest of the season, including memberships & what kit you may need etc.

Look forward to seeing you there.

just come to any meeting, you are allowed. Doesn't have to be the beginners. i think the chassis you have is ok. dont bother upgrading parts you wont notice the difference apart from ballraces. most important thing is setup. just work on springs, oil, tires etc till it feels comfortable to drive then maybe later buy a better spec car.

a stock motor is a 27x1 turn with fixed timing, something like a trinity monster. the class is called (STOCK 27-turn) if you have a standard silver can motor just run that and maybe later upgrade. you will also need a charger that runs off a leisure or car battery. also dont forget tires take-off cs22 for cold cs27 for warm.

have fun
