Hello,
I used to race in the 200mm scale rubber class and have decided to start again this year and fancied giving foam a try.
Just got a couple of quick quetions, Mirage now distribute the GRP range of foam wheels and tyres and on their website it shows the differnt types available. It lists the tyres fitted on Serpent rims, Kyosho rims, Mugen rims and a couple of other types. I take it these are all the same foam tyres, just mounted on different rims??? If so, what's specific about the rims that they are designated with Serpent, Mugen Etc???
Also it lists 26mm fronts and 30mm rears which sounds ok but it also lists 26mm rears. Whats the difference between 26mm front and 26mm rears?
Thanks for your input.
Mark.

Mark, the 26mm rears use a slightly different construction rubber, as all rears, in comparison to the 26mm fronts. That is the only real difference. Having said that the GRP rubber now coming from Mirage is kind of pricey.
What car are you running?

Thanks guys,
Ben,
having only just got back into Nitro I haven't bought a new car yet, still running my old MTX-2 at the moment. Wanted to try foam to see if I like it or not.
If I do then I guess it's between the Serpent 710 or Kyosho V 0ne RRR.
What other tyres are there if those are too pricey??
Regards.
Mark.

Well, there are Enneti tyres at £5.49 a pair. Which as you can see for the same quality tyre is a helluva lot cheaper!
Generally with foam you will nedd to set the car stiffer, especially the front to prevent the car from 'folding over' on itself and pivoting about the front axle.
If you are at a nat or local to tibby at a club meet, just ask for me and come over and say hi.
Regards,
Ben
