Ok
I have joined the ranks of the Lab owners as my 7.7 club is on its way!!
The kit comes with a 124 Spur so what pinions do I need to get for stock?
I run a Fantom black can 27t and a Monster and normally run the Fantom on a 28/78 with an internal ratio of 2.2 on my Yokomo.
Help, (needed urgently as I am racing in round 2 of the Macc open on Sunday and I will need to have the pinions mail ordered to get to me by then.)

There's a ratio chart on the lab website, so you might be better off having a look at that and seeing what spur gears will match the range of pinions that you currently have. I'd guess that would work out cheaper.

I have an RW standard 78 tooth 48 pitch flat disk Spur will that fit on the 7.7 ok?
If so it will run with my pinions from 5.74 up to 7.92 so that should cover all shouldn't it?

Welcome to the "Dark Side" 8)

I would be very interested to hear what swung your descision towards the Lab.

Regarding gearing - the kit gear is 64 dp so you need to decide pretty quickly whether you want to run 64 or 48 DP. As Stewart has suggested there is a very handy Gear Ratio chart on the RCLab website.

I gather that most of your racing over the next few months will be indoors and this means shorter and tighter tracks. This will mean that you will be looking at final drives from the latter part of the six's right through to the late 8's and will be dependent on Motor choice and obviously track.

IE: if you run 48 DP then you would need Spur Gears ranging from about 93 T through to 103 T and a range of pinions from 20 ish through to 32 ish. This should allow you to gear correctly for most Indoor tracks.

I'll PM you with my contact details so you can call me for any help / suggestions.

Cheers
