Im going to be running an 8x2 checkpoint and dont have a clue how to gear it for the mod GP track, any ideas guys?

Ive just had it outside my flat and its silly fast but dont want to kill it with the wrong gearing.

Cheers in advance,
Mark

I ran an 8x2 checkpoint at the last round in 2005 although it wasnt the long GP track the motor seemed to love the gearing and really revved nicely so i'm going to use it again as a starting point. My overall ratio was 7.7:1.

8x2? that as brave as you are mark? :p can anyone out there give me a starting point for a 7x1. was planning to come up tomorrow but with the weather as it is i think i will give it a miss (7x1 on a slippery/wet track... hmm could be sweeping up parts inbetween heats :'( )

If tomorrow goes ahead then a modified will indeed be interesting - I hope the weather forecasters are wrong about this lump of snow which is meant to be descending onto the Grampian region tonight.

Check the website www.sdrcc.co.uk tonight and tomorrow morning for an update.

Cheers,

Dan ;)
