View Full Version : How do you know if your TC3 chassis resembles a banana?

Hi all.

Just been wondering, if your chassis is tweaked. is it possible to set the car up so it does run flat, I mean 50/50, 25/25/25/25 weight distribution with a banana? Err I mean tweaked chassis..

In theory it is, but still would it have an effect on handling if the chassis was tweaked with the setup correct? My club car I think has a tweak, and even thought the amount of times I try to correct it it wants to go its own way, and have more grip one way round a corner than the other.

Matt.

Is your motor clamp done up right?

I have seen a lot of people overtighten the screw with the spring and tweak the chassis. There should be a small gap visible between the chassis and the clamp when tightened correctly.

Also if you can, try and set the car up using soft springs. This will make the car much less sensitive to tweak.

I read somewhere that the best way to avoid tweaking the chassis whilst doing the clamp screw up is to make sure that the spring is not compressed no less than 5mm

I never really tighten it down that much but I do run very stiff springs, I could try softening...

Thanks for the help.

ok matthew you need to look at your corner waits. this is what changes when a chassis is tweaked. one way to detune the tweak if you can not get hold of a tweak station is to balance your car on a flat edge (on the centre of the chassis, race prepared) and gently lower the car onto its shockers.( bit like a see-saw). do this for front and rear and this will level your corner waits out. but make sure your droop is correct first.

this will give correct corner waits , but dont be worried if your ride height is not level!!! it is meant to be like that
