Hi all

Was wondering if anyone can offer me some advice as to what tyres offer the best grip for car park racing on tarmac (no proper race track where I live sadly).
I've got a schumacher nitro fusion (21, not the 12), and it's fantastic fun but but the tyres that come with it seem pretty pants and whilst I'm no stranger to RC or nitro models, messing about with tyres & inserts is a whole new ball game to me.

I don't mind having to replace them every now & then but I just want pretty much as much grip as I can get so if anyone can suggest a particular make of tyre & hardness of insert (plus maybe a uk dealer to get them from although I'm happy enough to search myself once I know what I actually need) I'd be really grateful.

Cheers!

if its dusty and cool
i would say pit inters, echo med inserts and 26mm wheels
not so dusty and warmer ing 27 or take off same inserts and wheels,
try microtech racing he has a web site but i can not put it here
go to www.brca.org and search shops also get some of his robbe glue, tell him i sent you and you will be looked after

p.s. read the tips at the main page of scale IC, about gluing them!

Cheers for the reply Cartman.

Realistically it's likely to be cold and quite possibly damp the tarmac I'll be using although if it's actually been raining I'll be staying at home as trying to keep this schumacher straight in the dry is hard enough!

Does the number rating of the tyres (i.e. the 27s you mentioned) relate to the compound/softness of them? If so, which way means softer & which harder etc?

If there are any decent guides online about choosing tyres I'd be grateful of a pointer as I've looked and not found anything so far.....

Will be emailing the chap at microtech anyway! :)

the rating is a soft ness but its a bit like temp rating too!!
ings are 22 25 27 32 35 37
pits start at 20
take off 22

there is no quide to rubber unfortunatly, but you can run say a 27 with soft insert and have the same grip as a 22 with harder insert but with the 27 you will have a longer lasting tyre.
unfortunatly with your car you will eat tyres!!! but all that power is fun!!!

one thing, the strongest wheels i have used today are the schumacher spoked wheels
as yet not tried the new ing ones
