Does anyone know anything about the 10th scale Tekin system mentioned on their site?
Cheers,
G
no sorry, but i know people who have the 1/18 one and they say its very good, so i would imagine the 1/10 will be good too, not sure tho. if that helps at all?

Read on a US forum that it might be sensorless :(
But that's not a cue to start the sensored vs sensorless thing..... :D

Hmm.. but with Brian Kinwald signed up do you think it's most likely sensored or sensorless??

Could this might be one of the reasons why BK left Novak..???

Really, it's simple. Logically BK would not have left Novak who as we know were the instigators of brushless for racing unless the new Tekin 1/10 ESC would also be a brushless ESC able to work well with the current legal motors. If the new Tekin 1/10 ESC were to be simply a higher power version of the the Mini Rage ESC (ie sensorless only) then it would restrict it's use to fun/bashing etc. and in so doing leave BK without a viable racing option/sponsor. This appears to be the position other team drivers will be finding themselves in if their current ESC sponsor does not move into brushless technology.

... unless of course Tekin have also developed a legal sensorless motor for racing, in which case it could be a sensorless only ESC but I doubt it. No doubt time will tell!!

I will try to set the record straight if I can. Brian is now running for Tekin but not becasue of the brushless esc and motors issue. We are deveolping I should say we are now testing a 10th scale senorless system that will be able to run either motor a sensord or sensorless. Our motor that we are working on will be legal it just has to be rebuildable and meet the size requirments. Brian will be helping Tekin in it's R and D department as we work on our new esc and chargers that will be coming out later this year. Plus Brian will be running the current G-11 Pro as well. Hope that answer some of your questions.

Team Tekin representative thank you, that has certainly answered a few questions.

Having now been confirmed that it's both it will start the sensored vs sensorless thing.. but where it really matters, on the race track.
Racing is sure going to be interesting in the future!

the way I read the tekin reps post is that the tekin system was/is sensorless.
sensorless systems are able to run sensorless and sensored motors, you just don't connect the sensored motors HALL wire.
sensored motors are (in general terms) the same as sensorless motors but simply with extra sensor feedback part added onto them.
sensorless speedos can run both types of brushless motor
sensored speedos can only run sensored type motors.

Chris,
I think you're right!
