Well, the last meeting of the year has been run, and im looking foward to a new season with the new rule changes.
Are we running the traditional winter series next year? and what about an 'Open Race' agian?
One thing i did mention to James (our new chairman) was to not run a winter series at all, but to run a 'Triple Crown'. That would be a series of 3 races, each run to a format like the previous Open races, and run a points system (best 2 rounds to count). That would make for a seriously competitive series, with a BIG turnout at each round. It's also be good for generating some more revenue for the club, perhaps for those new track markings? So hows about it guys? You know this would be good. Awsome in fact. And you know we're capable of doing this.

Now thats a challenge Tom can't lay down! :D .
It would be really good to have a Triple Crown open race series, but there is a risk that there would be lower numbers attending. A series is a series, the open race is at the moment a "one off" - easy for people to just turn up for the one meeting. To be honest I don't really mind what happens, as long as we get some open races in! ;)

Don't know what we are doing yet, but we now know when we will be racing.
The 2006 race date schedule is now posted on the crcccc web site (http://www.crcccc.org.uk)

Hello All,
Im asking the same question again as i did almost a whole year ago! See the first post.
We've got 3 meetings left for this year, isnt now time to start planning events like these?
I think we need to hold atleast 1 'open meeting' this year. It turned out as a really good event the last two times...very competitive and very fun! Its good for the club too. I dont think organinzing such an event should be so difficult, as long as the dates can be booked with the hall management. Things like the kitchen, the raffle can be left out. People wont mind bringing there own food anyway, otherwise you just create more work for yourself. Just need to get a few cheap trophies thats all, if that! Personally im interested in just the racing...and the winning. lol.
Lets hear it from you guys...especially john!!

Yeah we definitely need an open race this year!
They have always been fun and competitive, and like tom said they're good for the club. Racing against different people from different clubs is always great...plus milton's open meetings have always had such a good atmosphere!
"Personally im interested in just the racing...and the winning. lol."
...shame that tom wont be able to fulfill his interests... :D :D

Yeah, The last open race was awesome, one of the best meetings I've raced at. Part of the reason it was so good is the number of people that had travelled a distance to get there. Makes it a lot more interesting and competetive than usual club series meetings where usually its just the regulars. We definately need a few big, all-day races.
What about a 1:12th class too. Bearing in mind the numbers we got last year racing touring cars, it might not be impossible to get 3 heats of 1:12th or more.
