Hi, burton buggy club has switched to mardaves if anybody is interested. www.burtonbuggyclub.co.uk
we race on tuesday nights and have varied tracks that are fairly challenging. the standard ranges from total newcomers to very high quality dirvers. liam brooks came 3rd or somethin in torc and races there, and many match him. anyway, the racing is very close, very relaxed and good fun so if you're interested then come along!! :)

Hi,
What rules do you run to for motors, speedo's, cells etc...?
I'm at uni in loughborough and might pop down one tuesday if my car is legal...

Hi Stuart,
Are you very far away from Leicester (M1 J21). Could you please post/PM me some directions.
Also, do you run oval or circuit?

Cheers Mark,
I did have a quick look on Multimap - looks like it's just off the old A50.

Cheers Lee,
Not sure if I'll make it tonight - gotta dig my kit out again (it's been a while).
Long time no see - I take it business is going well - there certainly seems to be plenty of Mardave activity on this site. It's good to see there's a healthy interest.
If anyone can let me know the details re: motors/cells/modifications allowed I'd be grateful, don't want to turn up with an illegal car.
ps, Lee - surely it's give way to the right in all cases :o

Some things that are seen as out of date can sometimes be as good as the new electrickery type.
One big advantage of the board type speed controller is in many ways the ease in which it can be maintained, each individual component can be purchased with loose change, they also take much more 'driver abuse' than electric speedo's will ever do.
I will agree that set up is not as easy as an electric but you only need to pay the same attention to the speedo servo as the steering servo and you should be OK.
Another reason is you can chop and change the plug to your hearts content, no you cut the 'factory' plug of an electric and you are normally on your own if anything goes wrong with it later.
The sample of various budget (£30-£50) F&R electronics I have witnessed and used have not given any huge advantage over the Mardave board controller, well not enough if you take into account the cost difference.
