Anyone with a entry level transmitter, without steering rate adjustment, should take a look at the site below. Although it's to do with some boating lark (sailingboats! - what's that all about?) it does show you how to add a trimming pot to your transmitter, which is nice.

It might be in some classes but MANy have rules against modified radio's.

The force required to move the stick on an entry level transimitter isenough to slow your thumbs down!
