Front Grey/Black Belt - Mission

I have a Mission Carbon running a 17T motor. At the moment i am using the Grey front belt. I was advised to get the black front belt at this is meant for modified motors. I ordered a black one from an online store and i received a standard grey one. They put a note in to say that the black one has now been discontinued and that the grey belt is now used.

Is this actually true, or are they talking rubbish? If not, where can i get a black belt from and should i send the grey one back? If true, will i encounter any problems using the grey belt?

I think the front black belt may have been discontinued because the grey one is strong enough for modified racing.
The rear black belt should still be available because the grey rear belt is not strong enough for modifieds or 19s.

The black rear belt came with the car so i wont need that replacing. So if you are saying that the front grey belt will do the job then that is good enough for me.

Is there an advantage to using the grey rear belt, if you are only running 27t?

I dont think there is an advantage to using the grey belt but the black belt is suppoed to be more suited to modified motors.

There is an advantage. The grey belts are much softer than the black belts. So they are generally more efficient.

The black front ones aren't available any more. They grey front ones are absolutely fine for 99.9% of situations. I have used down to an 8 double with a grey front one.

Thanks for the info Matt, I will get myself a rear Grey belt then. I don't plan on running mod at any time, so it might make things a bit better :)

i would just use the standard belt that comes with the mission on the front, and use the xray belt on the back....if u put the grey belt on the back in modified, it can snap very easy....
