Might be worth removing some of the old stickied threads Dan as this thread isnt easy to spot as there are a couple of agm proposal threads still up there.

Track Maintenance
Alot of the kerbing on the inside of the banked corners is really broken up and often comes loose during the day as cars driver over it which drags alot of big stones on to the track. At the start of the year and maybe half way through the season completely sweep the entire track removing every stone not just brushing them off the racing line where people can collect them and pull them back on to the racing line. Every time i raced at stonehaven this year it cost me a set of belts and pulleys.

Look in to securing the track more to stop the mini moto's using it when no one is there, quite a few good suggestions came from the thread in here and in the main tc section, it would be good to try implementing some of them.

Track Layout
Install the second amb loop that i proposed last year and run alternate tracks in 2006 instead of just the same track over and over, the big track was used 4 times this year plus 2 times with the extra infield. 19t is the biggest class at stonehaven so the track we race on should cater more to them, 19t down the full straight is boring. It would be more fun for modified as well running on shorter more technical tracks. Run a different track at each round of the club championship and run the full track for the GP and full track plus the extra infield for the SRCA round.

Off Road Championship
As you seem to have re-kindled off road racing in scotland why not team up with the ayrshire club and hold a mini championship? best 3 out of 4 rounds with 2 meetings at each venue and of course still hold the off road gp.

Hi guys,

I know im not a club member but ive raced up with you guys in the past and think it is a cracking venue.
Ive been reading the post and everyone seems to be getting a bit upset with one another your meant to be talking to sort out the problems with your club and the improvements that will make your club a better facility.
I have to agree with kenny on the track surface, its getting a bit worse for wear and with a new fresh consistant surface for the whole track you would have one of the best tracks in the UK. I know its an expensive task but if you have the chance to do it as you have said Dan please take it. Im down in edinburgh and with a track of the quality with a good racing surface i would be more than willing to travel as ive been going down to carlisle this year for outdoor racing.
As Brian says aswell, try and get the off-road revival continuing. I went and competed at falkirk for the first ever time with the buggys and it was awesome i can see why all you old-timers love it so much.

Cheers
Mark

Even if a resurface is ruled out because of the cost there is still alot that can be done to improvement the state of the tarmac, most of it Dan has already mentioned in the emails he has been sending out. One thing that was suggested before the GP last year by Kenny of all people was washing the track with sugar soap to bring up the grip levels, pretty sure most big venues do this from time to time to keep things sweet :D

Thanks Bryan, good comments.

If cost is too high then a good clean to get rid of the moss etc (after the winter) and redoing curbs/edges may suffice.

Hey Kenny you keep in at school and hopefully we'll see a readable post soon!

Remember the committee only do anything for the club in their spare time. Doing work on the track is no easy task. Are you willing to spend a few weekends at the track to help do the work that's needed? From the rubbish you have been spouting I think not. All you want is the club to be there for you to race as long as you don't have to contribute anything. We wouldn't have anywhere to race if it wasn't for enthusiastic folk putting the effort in to create clubs and tracks. Its people with your attitude that finish clubs off. Why should anyone bother when all the thanks they get is criticism from the likes of you?

I don't think resurfacing is essential but yes if the costs are within the clubs budget it is worth looking into. Stones on the track have always been a bit of a problem. Its not called Stonehaven for nothing! Most of these are from the concrete edges breaking up not the track surface itself. The newer sections of the track are bumpy and crumbling as it was not done to the same quality as the original track surface. As a minimum, if resurfacing is out, then most if not all of the edging needs redone. Then give the track a good clean and a lick of paint it will be back to a high standard.

Bruce.

dan what was the point in changein kennys post to make him look stupid then once you got that pm from him then change it back, there is no point in saying what you have to say, personaly harassing kenny, then not sticking by what you had to say. i hope you are sorting out what kenny said to get him unbanned and have it sorted out soon, cause his dad aint the happyest of people at what you have been saying

This is far too serious when it all comes down to 'fun' toy car racing.

Kenny started this by being abusive, unhelpful and heavily criticising the club and the track when he does less than zero to help with it - his comments were not in any way constructive or useful and were not appreciated by the committee along with being against the rules of this website. We work hard in our spare time so racers can enjoy this great hobby.

I think we now need a bit of maturity here.

No further discussion on this thanks. Let's get back on track with good comments to improve the club for 2006 and beyond!

Cheers,

Dan

Some criticism can sometimes help to put some points across at times Dan.

You asked what the drivers wanted and we told you.

Hi Mark,

I totally agree with you, constructive criticism is a good thing. Your comments were great and thanks for giving them. Both helpful and constructive.

Please don't read my last post wrongly - there have been things going on behind the scenes with a certain individual which I wanted brought to a close. I didnt make it clear, sorry.

Thanks,

Dan
