hello

just a quick one Mr Skelding. ;)

a while ago i got your shock towers :D and i fitted them, am very pleased with them.
one thing, have you ground down the rear bits that over hand the diff outdrives so you can fit it like normal, or have you spaced it out like the note said?

also, they are so strong, they broke my chassis :( :'(
yes, my dad did drop my car upside down onto the concrete cellar floor but.......

so, the question is, do you space it out at the back, and do you have a cure for the chassis problem?

The new Losi shock towers are very good

well worth a try. they seem to be a lot harder to break.

no no, its not the shock tower that broke, its the chassis :o

and yes i did use little o rings behind it on the front.

either way, the new Losi shock towers are actually differant. not just in the material

and the losi towers are designed to flex and absorb some impact

all good hobby shops! :P

seriously though, most shops will have them, Adam may even change his design to go with the new version.

Was it a ribbed chassis you broke or the pre-ribbed one?

I don't run a Losi XXX4, would be if the damn things weren't so brittle but to avoid chassis breakages id guess using alloy screw in the shock tower would help - make sure they are long enough to go right through so once snapped they can be wound out and replaced easily.

what do you mean ribbed or pre ribbed???

it was the standard one that came with the xxx-4 (not G+)

someone that has a xxx-s or a xxx-4 will know wot i mean by this-----

it broke where you fasten your shock tower onto, where them 4 screws go through. just at the end of the belt tunnel at the top.
do you knw what i mean?
??? ??? ???

Yip, know exactly where you mean. Losi released a version 2 chassis with a few strengthening ribbs on the top where the transmssion tunnel meets the 90degree bend at the moulded bracket where the tower is screwed on. I think it was late July or early August that these were included in the kits - but I could be wrong.

I awaited the new chassis before deciding which 4wd to go for, wasn't convinced it was enough so went in direction of Yokomo.

do you mean there are 2 little support like pieces that go from the tunnel to the little place where u screw it on.

hmm...you may get what i mean, may not ???

got a picture, not that clear but......

what i thnk you mean are just behind the front shock tower. and you can see 1 in front of the rear. is this what you are talking about?

thanks chris (long :P)

my old chassis didn't have them, but the new one that i got did so hopefully it won't happen again.

the ansser is, don't let my dad get his hands on it again ???

True, atleast you've not driven it on the track, who paid for the new chassis???

Id say, when carrying don't hold it more then 6 inches from the ground just incase it does drop! ;D

Good luck with the new chassis.

Does the alloy screw idea sound a good one or not?

Chris

i have raced it.
won the batley buggy club 4wd :D :D :D

don't konw about the alloy screw, do you mean so that breaks, not the chassis.

take one guess at who payed for the chassis ;D

clue---an old man ;D ;D ;D

LMAO

Ha ha, atleast you got the latest chassis on it then!

If I were you, I would let him carry it everyday
U: "Dad, carry this"
D: "Why son"
U: "Oh, its just in the way"
D: "But im going to Tesco's"
U: "Oh, well just carry it around and bring it back"

;D

Ud have a new car in a fortnight.

Yes, I mean so the screws snap and save chassis. Looking at it, if the screws (alloy) went through the tower in reverse so their were four nuts on the front, when they snap it'd be dead easy to sort.

Although, im not 100% if this would work, not got a car to look at.
