I make no excuses whatsoever for a quick proud Dad moment.

Congratulations to James Howarth (F2) and Ben Ingram (F3) on their victories in their respective BRCA National Modified Championships. James has driven superbly all year to win a highly competitive class. Ben has driven well during his first season in the modified class.

Many thanks to everyone who has helped Ben and I throughout the year, the step up to the modified class brings a whole new set of challenges which we could not have met alone. Partucular thanks to Tony Howarth with his trusty soldering iron and Kevin Brunsden for his invaluable advice.

I think it is reflective of the standards set at WLRC that two juniors who have cut their teeth there can suceed at this level.

Well done lads.

Mike

A quick Post Script to the above.

Thanks also to Pete Tims and Graham Franklin for all their hard work running Medstead Carpet Racers where it all started.

Cheers

Well done to the both of you, having attended half the rounds and seen the high standard of driving, I see two stars for the future.

Well done to both Lads & Dads....

Really good for the future of the club with a couple of new and potential future champions among 'our' membership....

James has always 'stuck' with the 'Mod' class where others have abandoned it and has been deservedly rewarded by winning the hotly contested F2 division.

Ben was 'persuaded' to move up to 'Mod' class this year by KevB, I believe, and has shown he posseses the necessary skills to do 'the job'... BTW Will this mean celebratory haircut???? :)

Well done guys.

As for Ben getting a haircut I suspect that's a while off yet: I'm sure it's tactical to obscure the competition's view!
