I assume you mean last weekends event?

Anyway we meaning myself and 2 others traveled from Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, around 150-160 miles each way with the droppings off. so not to far. And I know we where certainly not the furthest.

I Noticed there was a guy who travelled from Norway to race and some from Scotland (I think I saw a van with a Perth address on it)

And lets not forget our guest VIP, Hiro-san from Japan !

I suppose Hiro wins that one, but as the event sponsor I don't think he should count - not meaning to be offensive in any way of course, for I presume you mean competitors.

Certainly this year son Josh and I take the award for furthest travelled - over 2000 miles each way, as the crow flies.

Actually I think I also take another one this year - at 59 the oldest idiot driving !

As for overseas visitors, I did speak to a couple of Dutch fellows, and the 2 Norwegians were pitting near us.

Despite the odds, and the expence, I'm sure we will be back for more, if not next year, the year after that.

At about the same time next year, the Worlds are being held in Italy. That's just up the road from us, so we may give that one preference next year, if I can get an entry for Josh.

I'm assuming that the KO GP must be getting some international coverage.
I realise that John would know about it due to his input on these message boards etc. But how did the peeps from Norway and Holland know about it?

If they are also on these boards a lot then please forgive me, but they must have considered it a good event if they were prepared to travel that far.

I'm assuming the Norwegian 'lads' heard about the event via the 'power of the internet'... There was a third person but he had to 'drop out' at the last minute. Joe & Josh are 'regular' attenders and always welcome... 'Our' Dutch 'visitor' currently resides in London and is a current club member...

There were a couple of other overseas entries but they were un-able to make the trip this year, maybe another time.

Does wales count as being foreign?! If so then the regular welsh contingent deserve a mention, along with Russ Williams.

And I really thought I would be "in cognito" but that would be to much to ask with the license plate on the big car. Funny as it may sound from the mouth of a Dutch guy: I do feel at home at the WLRC and that is thanks to all of you :'( (wow, hope I gained a few credit points there :D ).

Cheers

Are you after more Brownie points Huub, next minute you'll be drinking Grolsh and having a BBQ Trackside ! Oh I forgot you did did'nt you :p

Mark, The Welsh contingent are most diffinatly foreign! :p ;)

So having said that the 10th KO GP really was an international event, so maybe next year it should be billed as the

"The International KO West London Grand Prix "

Just Kidding ! (but then again... ;) )

My first visit to a KO Gp at WLRC was quite a few years ago.

Now let's see, we have raced 3 KOs biannually, and I visited and got the bug the year before that so that must have been 7 years ago.

At that meeting I remember seeing quite a few REAL foreigners - French, Belgian, Dutch, Swiss (Jean Marc Betticer) - or am I dreaming.

Perhaps someone younger, and with a better memory will confirm.

I don't think anyone would argue with that... I expect you were home just in time for breakfast Tuesday morning...

I reckon Spencer Jones has the shortest distance to travel to the track...

Unless of course anyone knows different....

Another achievement perhaps:

How about the racer that slept in the smallest tent  ?

Could be me at 1.97 mtr in a tent with a 2 mtr diameter :p ?

Yes, possible .......... ;)

Hi Steve,

You are absolutely right; slept like a baby. Just slightly more noise I heard in the morning from some neighbours!!.
