Hi all,
I have just recieved a lovely new t1 evo 2 for xmas ;D ;D and i built it with no problems. But then i got to the wheels. I had bought already glued and trued CS-22s. When i looked at them i realised that the washers wouldnt fit in the gap and i could only use the screw, but when i did this the wheels were a bit loose when tightened fully and moved from side to side a fair bit. Is there any way to overcome this apart from using smaller washers??
Thanks
Rob

Rob, Try placing the washer inside the wheel hex (inside the wheel) should do the same job as on the outside! Also my Evo 2 FOC does not like Schumacher rims much, they seem to catch when rotating, fixed it by having 1 washer in the normal place and the second inside the whell hex as above.

Hi Rob,
Ignore what rob (The Baxter) said. He has obviously easten so much over christmas, he has lost the ability to think straight!
M8, I think you are going to have to get the smaller washers. Xray make a smaller set. Remember that they are cone washers which give them their locking capability.
If you put the washers on the inside of the wheel there is no way the wheels are going to run true and you will damage the wheels on the outside because you will have to overtighten the screw to compress the washer on the inside.
The Baxter is a good driver and a top bloke so I can forgive him his moment of madness!
Cheers

I use fastrack(?) engine hold down bolts that come with a lovely alloy countersunk washer, looks the biz and I have never lost a wheel yet.

you need to go to your local model shop and order part number 309311, small cone washer set, these should fit your wheels.
i would recomend that you get them (or some other wheels, the kit ones are good) before you go racing as the last thing you want is i wheel to drop off, it makes you look like a right idiot ;)
hope this helps

You can also put a smaller washer betweeen the normal washer and the rim. This is what everybody at my club does and I have never had the problem with a wheel falling off while using pre-glued Take off's.
can't help you with the shops', I don't live in the UK.

Thanks Mark, but the washer when you screw it onto the wheel the washer does go flat! so your car will not have an odd wheelbase!!!

is it possible to get coloured wheel nuts?
If you use the M4 fastrak engine hold down bolts, they come with anodised alloy washers in blue, red, purple, gold and some other coulours. they work a treat. and look the part.
