well impressed with the build quality of my first tamiya the Surikarn and am looking forward to racing it just one thing what is the gear ratio and will the 64 dp pinions fit ok and can I change it to the 48 dp ;D

If you are talking about the EVO III Surikarn the internal ratio is 2.6 and the tamiya spur gear is what they call there 0.6 module which is close to 64dp but not close enough to get away with using 64dp pinions.

Save yourself some money and instead of getting tamiya pinions which are soft and prone to damage get some 64dp RW spurs and pinions. As they are close in size to the tamiya stuff you only need to get the spur and pinion sizes listed in the rear of your manual.
