Hi... Hopefully this will get answered as this forum doesn't seem to get that much use!??

Anyway............ A few questions!

I have recently moved down to Swindon from the Mids (was previously living in Worcester & raced at their club) & have been looking into finding a new club! Chippenham seems the best (& most local) option.

Could you please tell me a little about when you run etc? I drive past the Outdoor track once a week or so but I don't know when this track gets used!? I saw from your website that you race on a Tuesday night..... Is that indoor at the School location though!? If so thats cool (if I can find it).........

About my car..... Well I have been out of the scene for a couple of years now, but looking to get back into it! I have a Schumacher Axis 2 that I think would probably get me by for a few weeks! What do you think!?

After this I am looking at getting maybe the new XRAY T1FK05......... I also like the look of buggies nowadays... particularly the Team Associated one..... forget the model, 2wd drive jobbie that wins everything!?

Any help & advise would be gratefully recieved!

Oh Im planning on popping along tonight to have a look, but need to know where you are please........ Somebody help :) ;)

Hi Scott,

Sorry for the lack of use :) The website and forum are getting updated at the moment so expect a load of changes soon.

Welcome by the way :D

The club does indeed race on Tuesday nights. Currently (because its the summer season) we race at the Chippenham Rugby Club

http://www.cmcc.org.uk/about_venues.php

There is the carpark surface used for On-Road and a grass track behind for Off-Road. All electric racing, normally there are a few heats of each class. For On-Road there is a 19T limit on motors, while everything goes in Off-Road.

A Schumcacher Axis will be fine to get back into it for On-Road. However, it is a bit of shameless plug but, I am selling up my Team Associated B4 2WD buggy (the one I think you are referring too) at the moment.

I have been having a bit of a break from racing over the past few weeks but if you are interested drop me an email (andy@x-bb.org) as I could bring it along tonight for you to have a look at.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need any more information.

Tut tut shameless plug indeed!!

Thanks for the quick response Andy... Having read other posts I figured you would be in touch :o

Ok this may sound stupid, but one of the most enjoyable parts for me is building the kits in the first place...... Although the offer is quite tempting!! What are you asking for it & what does it include etc!??

Are you on MSN by the way!? Its good to talk :)

Hi Scott, you should also be aware of the Swindon club that run on Sundays down at Purton, not far for you to go there, they race indoors (touring cars) on polished wooden floors in the winter and cater for all manner of classes running outdoor during the summer. A certain local model shop has all the details of local clubs, when they run and what they run.

BTW Chippenham club do run outdoors during the summer, the off raod track, mainly grass caters for all vintages of buggies...and trucks. The onraod track is ok if a little rough, I certainly wouldnt run a FK05 there if I were you!! Indoors during the winter is on carpet though and well worth a go, the club also run a highly successful championship called the Carpet Thrashnalls over the winter months, big hall, big track, big race feel.
Best come along and have a chat, we will endeavour to answer any questions you may have.

Se you trackside
