Round 4 of sdrcc championship 12/06/05

Fellow racers, members and non-members alike. On Sunday 12th June we will be racing at the outdoor track in Stonehaven we hope to see you all at the track for a full day of close racing.

Unfortunately the forecast was completely wrong for yesterday and the heavens opened on several occasions. :(

Let's not get too disheartened by this as I think (most of us) still had a good days racing. A few speedo's went pop (mainly the supposed waterproof ones!) and the tyre choice was a challenge as the sun started to shine just to deceive us!

On a positive note, the 2 undercover pitting areas were brilliant. There must have been about 20 racers underneath and reports were of great banter and of course everything remained dry too! We hope to have these undercover areas at the next meeting too. :D

Next month is a very busy month at the club, Round 5 takes place on Sunday the 10th July and preparations for the Scottish GP weekend are already in full swing (30th & 31st July). ;)

The results from yesterday will be posted in the next couple of days.

All that is left to say is let's hope it's sunny and dry in all of July! :cool:

I thought the undercover area was brillant.

Despite the wet weather we were all able to get together, watch the racing and have a good laugh rather than sit in our cars until our race was up.

..... I'll bring the bbq next time! Don't worry about the rain, she'll be right mate.

We've been lucky up to round 4 and for the past 2 years so let's hope the sun comes out in July :eek:

Hope to see you there - I agree it's not much fun in the wet but when it IS sunny and the shorts are on, well what can I say? Fantastic!

only kidding mate.... I have come away from there with a Mediterranean tan after a two day meeting on more than one occasion, its a veritable sun trap, hats and sun tan cream are always advised at Stonehaven.
Oh and Dan..... is it possible for you to furnish me with contact details of some of the ic guys from the off road meeting?
