i have recently run in a new novarossi 12 on my mtx3 1/10 ,

my problem is it seems to stay open for a second or 2 after i release throttle .
i can see when the car is not running that the servo is working fine , no matter how fast hard i push and pull on radio , it closes up nicely no delay there ? i was thinking maybe the carb is sticking , but it seems ok when i move it manually with my hand . i cant feel no resistance or sticking , ??

i'm gonna try and make a throttle return spring and see how it goes , but it should'nt be doing this ?

anyone got any ides ??

its not nice driving like this , as the car is very fast and the slightest over accelaration could mean the end for my brandnew car and engine !! as it nearly has already.

any help appreciated

to be honest i wouldn't recommended running a nitro motor without some sort of return spring fitted, most people tend to use 2 or 3 very small elastic bands fitted round the ball joint on your throttle and over the top of your main needle housing.

are you sure it is the carb not shutting off, or is the engine running on, if the bottom end is running too lean, you find when you come off power the engine will still hold its revs for a few swconds and then drop down to idle

definitely run a throttle return spring/lassie band, didn't have one on a xxxnt and the throttle ball cup popped off on landing from a jump just as i hit full throttle with a very messy result.

thanks for the reply's

i realised after removing the carb to inspect, it was the low speed needle was slightly bent , so it was stopping it from moving smoothly, bent it back with my finger untill it was straight again, and all is ok , bloody fast engine lol, and thats at 160f max ;)

i did notice that there is some of that red stuff missing from around the carb , you know what i mean the same stuff you get inside the crankshaft red putty stuff,
i cleaned out the carb with wd40 before i realised what was wrong, and from reading previous post about someone else who melted that red bit in crank with wd40 ,

i never knew it was used on the carb aswell, so thought i was safe to use wd40 in thier , when i had the carb apart i noticed there is residue of this red stuff around the inside of the carb , but it's not thier , you can see where it was from remaining red bits ,

engine seems to be running fine tho any1 know what i mean ?

can anyone tell me what this red stuff inside the carb is fr ???
