How much oil in the diffs?

Hi all,

Im just getting into 1/8th RX and have just bought a TTR S3 and am beginning to build it up. I think I have read most of the relevant posts on here and have downloaded set-up sheets from Amerang. I see most people seem to use 5k oil in all 3 diffs contrary to what it suggests in the manual, but how much do you put in? do you totally fill the diffs? Sorry if this is a stupid or obvious question.

Many more questions to come no doubt but i'll start with this one:p

Diffs,



Fill the diffs to almost cover the smaller gears, then drop in the last larger gear. We recommend only using quality diff oil as it is found that oils can go off during long runs. Currently Jon H uses ‘K’ oil in his diffs.
