Withe the micro rs4 there are different settings for width of the wheelbase by changing where the wheels go on, what would changing this do? would it change the stability or turning etc.
cheers

Hi John,
Yes the wider the car the more stable it is, however putting all wheels can result in slightly less turning.
I always run on the widest settings whether with 140mm or 150mm options, now run at 150 all the time

I have done a bit of testing into this since i wrote tat post and i found that for the kind of track i am racing on (small dusty wooden floor church hall) the track is actually very tight and twisty which means on the widest setting i didnt have enough turn in - and it is twitchy anyway - so i am using a slightly narrower setting. I use 150mm by the way with no hopups. Te racing i do is kind of a small affair - me and a couple of mates set up a track in a church hall using the tape they use to put round police scenes!! for the edge of the track!!

We have foynd the cars to be a bit twitchy and normally turn the steering rates right down, also we run med or soft rears to balance the car.
Your understerr may be due to too much steering i.e. the wheels have turned so far that they are not gripping so the car is actually being pushed straight, reduce the lock and the tyres start gripping again.
