As you are all aware this event was due to be held over 2 days and have a maximum driver count of 118. Due to circumstances concerning the amount of camping space available which is out off Amerang’s and 3A Raceways control, this event is now going to be held over one day with the maximum amount of drivers reduced to 80.
Race day information :
Thunder Tiger Trophy Race
Supported and hosted by Amerang, Thunder Tiger and 3A Raceway.
Date: Sunday 4th September 2005
Class: 1/8th off road – open to ALL brands of cars.
Venue: 3A Raceway, Near Gatwick, Sussex, England
Type of Track: Clay surface with jumps(for pictures and directions see club website - www.3araceway.com)
Maximum Entry: 80 drivers
Race Format:-
Saturday 3rd
Open practice will be available from 15.00pm until 18.00pm. A peg board system will be in use and if over subscribed, drivers will be asked not to refill cars with fuel during their practice sections. Failure to comply with peg and refilling systems will result in practice being denied for that driver.
Sunday 4th
1 round of practice
3 rounds of 5 minute qualifying. 2 from 3 rounds to count towards qualifying positions. 200 points will be rewarded to the fastest driver in each round, 198 for 2nd place, 197 for 3rd place and so on
10 cars per heat, 8 heats in total.
Registration from 7.30am
Drivers briefing at 8.00am
First practice heat to start at 8.15am and finish approximately 9.15am
Heats to run from 9.15am to 13.00pm
Finals to run from 13.30pm to 18.30pm
All sub finals will be 20 minutes in duration, with the main A final 30 minutes in duration
Top 76 drivers will be placed in to a final.
In sub finals 4 drivers will bump up to make a maximum of 12 drivers per final (i.e. 8 drivers directly qualify for each final)
Current BRCA rules will be used as a principle guide line, together with common sense.
AMB Personal Transponders will be required for each driver. A number of handout transponders maybe available but at this moment not guaranteed.
