Great to see the up to date championship tables, but just two small questions
1) what happened to the penalties that were mentioned after Milton Keynes?
"The results have not been posted on the stcc website as yet due to some penalties that may need to be enforced. Rob Nelson did mention this when he posted the prelim results".
If those penalised were named and shamed perhaps there would not be any repetition of the infringements (just a thought)
2) Could I ask how a driver who DNS a final can score more points than one who did start but crashed on the first corner?
C Final (Super Stock) (South Hants)
Only small points but important to drivers and clubs.

You Know the old catch phrase "What do pionts make?..........Prizes!.

The answer to question 2 is that you get points for qualifying and for your final position. Therefore, if you qualify high up the grid in the final you can have more points at the end than someone who finished ahead of you...

And as for the catchphrase, I thought points made prizes. ;)

Have just checked the results list and seen that it has been corrected.
thanks Barry

Sorry Dave but I think you will find .in STCC points are only awarded for positions in the 2 finals and not qualifing positions

On the results that I have the DNS was shown in 9th, so I allocated the points that way.

I can only imagine that as the car didn't complete a lap, it was also recorded as a DNS, and the result was taken on grid positions....

One for Mr. Nelson I think.....

I think James is correct that although a Car started if it did not register a lap it would also be classified as DNS then points would be allocated on the grid position.

Tom
There are no points for qualfying in the STCC only for the finals.

I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that a car that does not even take the grid can be classed as having an higher finishing position than a car that has taken the grid and crossed the start line. A car that has started the race must finish higher than any car that has not started at all. ???

What if a car crashes out on the last corner with out finishing the first lap, a car that has not started get the higher points? :o

I would agree that if 2 cars do not take the grid the higher grid position gets the higher points. :)

I was under the impression that qualy = no points, but your finishing position in both finals!!!
therefore if you qualy pole, as I did at SHMCC, crashed out on lap 3, and awarded 91 points! finished last or second to last.

I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that a car that does not even take the grid can be classed as having an higher finishing position than a car that has taken the grid and crossed the start line.

However, it appears to me that in this instance the car that crashed out did NOT cross the loop - therefore no lap was registered hence the car didn't start.

It depends where the loop is placed - if its right after the grid or so that you have to do a whole lap before you cross it.
