Hi All,
Has anyone else struggled to get the front ride height down below about 6mm on the rdx, i dont really fancy putting spacers in the shocks or changing the angle of the shock itself.
Any ideas would be appreciated
Cheers

I’m glad I’m not the only one! Thought I was being a real numpty.
I have no real answer for you, because I’m still struggling with this. I have reached 6mm but only just and the car feels very wrong. To do this I have the collars on the shocks are as high as they will go (which means I cant play with the preload). Also, I’ve screwed the droop screws nearly all the way through the wishbone until the chassis is at 6mm. But this can't be right! As I said the car feels so wrong. But my experience is with the Pro4 which is very different to the RDX, so the problem is probably with me. I don't know anyone local with an RDX, as it would be useful to have a close look at their car and in turn have them have a butchers at mine.
Proof in the pudding will be tonight, as its getting its first outing on carpet.

I had exactly the same problem when using schumacher carpet dragons or T27 on my RDx Are you using these tyres? I solved this by cutting 2mm of the plastic ball joint on the end of the shock shaft. This then allows the spring holder to sit lower down the shaft and hence more adjustment on the shock collar. My RDx can now get down to 4mm ride height.
The droop screws should not be used to reduce the ride height.

Yes it is with hpi 15/40 tyres, they measure about 65mm diameter. i think ill cut off some of the ball joint on the shock, this way i wont be altering the roll centres of the car.
Thanks

Lee, make sure you measure the eye-to-eye extended length of the shocks before you start making mods. Then take only 1mm off the end of the moulded eye, reassemble the eye back onto the shaft, back to the same extended length, this will allow the shock platform to fit 1mm lower on the bottom end and give a lower ride height capability.
