hey sam

i can help you with this even if i do run a losi now! :-
I ran a ft for a good few years!
carnt really give you much on the gearing front but prerhaps start with 72/24 on a p2k2 or 72/21 on a monster for small carpet tracks.
for setup a good starting point is red/blue for springs. Play around from thereone you will nail somthing eventullay!

Andrew ;D have fun!

Hi Sam

I can share my experience's with you. My set up may not suit your driving style, but it worked for me.

Firstly - NO Dragons. I just could not get them to grip for me in the same way T27's do. We run on Primafelt, may be different for you ???

Front

Rear shock tower on the front. Shocks in top outer hole and Inner hole on wishbone. Purple springs, 70 wgt oil. Inner lower camber link at gearbox. 0 degree camber, 1 degree toe. Standard kit hub.

Rear

Shock position as front but Red Springs with 65 wgt oil. Kit position for camber link, medium wheel base. 1 degree camber.

T27's with Med moulded inserts at the front, and Soft moulded at the rear.

I gear either a Monster or Matrix to a final drive around 9 (ish).

yeah thats what I thought, my set up is pretty much standard except for the following changes,
1 degree negative camber all round
Red springs on front + Silver springs on rear
(changed to red on front as rear end of car seemed to slide around a little bit, stiffening the front seemed to stop this and made it easier to drive)
Gearing (monster stock): 22/72

Yeah, its stiff ;D and I did say it may not suit all :P

Started with the kit set up, but could not dial out enormous grip roll. Gradually increased spring rates until I went too far, ending with set up posted.

Couple of points. I am a relative newbie, and my TC3 is one of only two at my club (and yes its the quickest) so it's trial and error for me. The set up suits my style. Very agressive, no finesse on either throttle or steering and I find a little of power oversteer helps 8) on a track surface that seems to me to have loads of grip.

This is my setup using Sorex 20R or CS22. (using Jack the Gripper tire sauce):

Front:

Copper springs, 50wt oil, piston 2. Rest default.
Heavy BRP anti-roll bar. (thicker than normal)

rear:

Silver springs, 30wt oil, piston 2, outer holes on shock tower, rest default.

Ride height 4mm b.t.w.

Copper in front is a bit too stiff for my liking but our carpet is very grippy, you may try lighter springs.
