I am about to buy a 1/10th nitro car and have shortlisted the Serpent 710 and the Kyosho v one rrr. They both seem to be very good cars any advice as to which way to go would be appreciated. I would hopefully be using it with both rubber and foam tyres.

PM Cartman for views on the Serpent and Nimo for views on the Kyosho. Both are equally good, but from a personal view go for the Associated NTC3, which you haven't mentioned at all.
One thing I will say is that Ripmax are no longer the distributors of Kyosho in the UK and as such there hasn't been an announcement who is the new distributor so spares maybe a problem.
kyosho v one rrr kits and all spares are available in the uk, so there is no problem there.

Ben Racing will be stocking kits and all spares for the RRR. So spares will not be a problem.
Plus we will be racing and supporting the car at all of the foam nationals this year so we will be asle to give you the latest low down on settings, tips etc.

there is a full serpent team also at the foam nats and a team doing the rubber series, so back up for the 710 will be available too,
before this gets into this is better than that, both car are equally as good and both will win in the right hands.
study the costs of each and im affraid the only person who can tell you whats the one for you is you!
you need to decide your self is the simple answer.
see whats popular at your local club as then you have more access to help and set ups
personally i am well happy with the 710, 1st time i have race on foam and 14th at the nationals, in the damp the car was well ballanced and easy to drive. though jase set ftd in and was in the A till the last round with his kyosho! as i said there much the same performance wise

i would go for the kyosho rrr i raced my rrr for the first time on saturday at ashby then raced at a proper race track on sunday tibshelf (imo) i have now done loads of testing and the rrr is by far the best chassis i have ever driven, it was so easy to set up and you get a good feeling when you are driving it that it is something special and the spares for it are not a problem.
