It may have taken me 19 years of racing 1/12th scale to get my first win but it has been worth it.
Congrats to Nigel Hale for finishing 2nd overall, and to Chris Clarke for helping Associated win the team prize.
A big thanks to everyone who helped me along the way.
Cheers
Paul

Mr. Paul Ash we salute you!
Fantastic Paul I look forward to reading your report on the meeting.
btw did the grip continue to build through Sunday or did it plateau at any stage?

Yeah it continued to build - although not at the same rate as on sat. There were 8(?) 32 lap runs and the track was the same.

There was a bit more grip-but i din't see any one havin a prob with it-but laps etc were a lot quicker 1-2 laps quicker (or i was)on sunday, most people improved on the sunday!!

Congratulations to Paul, for a good job in the finals on Sunday. ;) He had been looking very fast all weekend.
Also I think Robin deserves a mention, as I think he was probabaly the fastest guy there both days, but had rearlly bad luck in the finals, on both days :P
I'm still not sure about the additive yet. My car felt great in the morning practice, but got harder to drive as the day went on ??? Think I need more practice to get my head around it ::)

ROFLMAO!
If Griff reckons he neds more practice to get used to the grip offered by the new additive, what chance do us mere mortals have!?
Geat work on the win, Paul... maybe you'll change your mind about Plymouth now! What do points make?

Well done to Andy and Paul for winning!
The grip must have got better through the day, I got my fastest time in the first round :( (29 laps) which put me 19th after round one, I didn't improve on it in the rest of qualifying (my driving was the problem ::) ) and I ended up 32nd after round three, but then in the second final I got a clear run and did 30 laps! So the track must have got quicker, or it did for me anyway :)
Can't wait for Plymouth now! :)

well done to andy and paul for winning at macc also good result for nigel hale ;D ;D
i think phil would be proud of the way meeting was run
we all missed him but i know he was there in spirt watching
Well done Paul; like a few of the people posting here, I am old enough to remember when you started. Congratulations, welcome to that very special club!! I'm willing to bet the first person to shake your hand would have been Phil Davies.
It's great to know Nigel was there, I hope he will be at the later meetings, when I intend to race, so we can meet up again. I know you'd all want him to win, but he did his fair share of that 20 years ago as National Champ 1983!! It would be nice if there were more new winners like Paul and Robin IMHO. But if Nige wants to show us how it's done (again!), I'm not going to argue!!
Paul, again, hearty congratulations.
Oh, and I notice that none of you tipped Paul in Mark Barford's thread earlier in the month!!! After me now ....

Come on Pete, dust the car off and come 1/12th racing again.
I still enjoy it after all this time and I'm sure you will, it is the best.
Thank you for the comments and I agree it would be great to see Nigel take a win this season as well
Paul
Paul; the car is dusted off, the bits are fitted, the cells are made up. There will be a tentative attempt to remember the ways of 1/12th at Chesterfield sometime this month (tickets on sale for those who lack a good comedy programme to watch!!) followed by an all out assault on the Z final at the '04 Nationals.
The irony is that it was Phil who persuaded me to come race again while at the Euros in France. We had a deal - he would help me race if I helped him understand the Telegraph crossword. Fate, eh, what a bugger it is.
Look forward to seeing you trackside in the New Year.
