hi associated ppl,
i now currently have two tc3 chassis's so i was thinking of converting one into a rally car so i could use it offroad. i have seen the rally conversion kit which looks good but i have not found anywhere that seems to actually sell it. does anyone have any experience with this conversion kit?
is it worth the money? is it fun?
also does the chassis becoming dirty become a problem? if so where can i find an inner cover for the tc3? as i heard they used to make them but dont nemore??!!
thanks for all the help

if going sideways and jumping your saloon car is your thing, then go for it. The kit is about £75, and you don't need an inner chassis protection sheet, just duck tape on the exposed areas. If you want to, run a waterproof cover ontop of your chassis, and that'll keep everything dry.
As for is it fun, that depends on how many other cars you can race it against. Rally isn't such a bug class anymore, and probably never was.
But if you want to do it spend your money and enjoy yourself.

Rally may not have a championship any more but the're great mess about cars. on the subject of waterproofing, with winter comming the underbody is of big importance, not only does it keep things dry but clean too. if you do intend to run in the wet (or like me the snow :)) then a waterproof spedo is essencial (i founf out the hard way), no matter what you do to a normal 1 (blu-tac, tape, etc) theyll always go pop.

I got mine from my LHS, they are just a smooth boxy looking cover that velcro's on to the chassis sides.

The TC3 rally car conversion is excellent fun, I have one and the tc3 rally or the RC3 as I like to call it is very at home off road, The car cover you want is made for CML distribution and will be available from them, from your local hobby shop,
The Rally Conversion is very good - quality of parts and standard set-up is excellent and the car goes like a TC on the rough!!
Call CML and ask who stocks the Rally Conversion kit. Also ask who stocks the cover - it is a standard item and has a part number from CML.
It's a shame the BRC has gone - I won a round some time ago with a box-stock TC3 Racer chassis and standard Rally Conversion - it was ace with the Proline 'Experimental' Subaru body on!!
Well worth the money, great fun, and can we have another Race Series for these and the HPI cars (also very good)?

My local club - Leighton Buzzard - is trying to promote a Stock Rally Club championship this year (depending on numbers etc) I had been thinking about getting rid of my Mugen 1/8th Rallycross Buggy and having a go at this instead. Couple of questions.
The kit states that a new rear shock tower is provided, whats different?
The kit comes with composite CVD's, are they strong enough?
