Hi, I am going to buy the Yokomo SSG SD,
but the part support where I live for this car is not very good(Canada)
but because of the SSG and its looks, I just couldn't resist.
I just want to ask which part of the car breaks easily, so that I can buy the spare parts with the car too. Some other infomation is I won't be using a very fast motor, most just 19t and Monster Stock. Thanks
Jackson

The main part you need to get hold of is the lower arms they break very easly ,good job they are cheap and also a set of the hinge pins lucky they are cheap also........
Have fun the SD is a great car......................

Definitely lower suspension arms. I have also lost a few king pins.
Other than that my machine has been bulletproof......!

the good thing is the wishbones for front and rear are the same which is a bonus.

Haven't managed to bust a Suspension arm yet (Saying that, guess what will explode on me tonight racing)
I have broken the rear hub carriers, front knuckle arms and front C-hubs.......
Replaced the Knuckle arms and Rear Hubs with the absolutley stunning Team Suzuki Hop-ups! They are really well made and match all the other cool blue bits on the car, Checkout the Yokomo USA website with a pic on an SD fully hopped up, with the Rayspeed chassis Conversion and the Team Suzuki parts, it looks rather horny :)
I have lost 2-king pins, but that was only after fitting the hop-up knuckle arms and forgetting to threadlock them in place!!!!
The rest of the car is pretty much bullet proof!

i have only ever broke one thing and that is the front bumber brace from when i went straight into a metal barrier with interence so my car seems to be bulletproof

I think my SD must be made from lego ::) Most peeps don't have much problem with breakages but i keep destroying mine. In 6 weeks i've bust 4 steering blocks, 4 C hubs, 1 steering bellcrank, 5 wishbones 2 of which the roll bar balls fell off thus rendering the ball cups useless.
I've got alloy steering blocks coming so hopefully that'll help!!

It'll just transfer the breaking force to the next weakest part!

Breakages? What breakages?
I gave my SD such a big one yesterday. Another member put his car on the track, half way down the straight, whilst he walked up to the rostrum.
I happened to be driving round. Flat out down the straight, and straight into the back of him.
His car: broken virtually everything at the rear.
My SD. A bit of a tweak. Slacken the top plate. Twist it around a bit. Tighten it up again. And back on the track again.
I really can't complain about breakages.

I thought they were built like a brick outhouse as well till this weekend..
I managed to break something on the front end 3 out of the 6 runs I did. I steering arm I killed on a practise lap before the heat started and I wasn't going that quickly either. :(
It seems if you hit something straight on you've got a good chance of getting away with it, hit any of the wheels at an odd angle and your out for the count.
I still like the car very much, even though it cost me a fortune on the weekend and I'm looking forward to running it this winter! ;D

What seems to be happening is, the C block snaps horizontally at the point the driveshaft passes through then rips the king pin out of the steering block at the same time, 2 weak points ending in one fatlity. My theory is if i eliminate one week point (the steering block) the C block might just hold together.

Yup, had the steering blocks straight out of the box, and never broke any C-Hubs (even though I've got the graphite ones coming soon).
Only part I broke were rear arms and the servo saver (but it was very cold that day, so even if I didn't had such a big crash, the plastic didn't seemed to like the temp). Oh, and I've had 2 suspension arms pins bended. Make sure yours are not, unless you won't stop breaking arms.

Hi friends. Greetings from Malta.
Although I haven't had any C hub failures I now use alloy ones. I have 7 deg, 5 deg, and 3 deg Fastrax ones. Presently using 5 deg with 0 front kick up, which brings us to the standard set up which is 4 + 1.
I am also using the 0 trail (new) hubs.

It's definitely in the realms of "if you need to ask, you can't afford it"! :o

I think its around the ton mark..
Mr craig is the best one to ask as he has one on order, he likes to drop it into conversation as much as possible :D

Hi,
graphite parts have been released on friday, there are suspension arms, gear case, steering blocks, rear hub carriers with 0°, 0.5° and 1°.
I guess the new suspension arms won't break anymore...
