What month should we hold the off road meeting?

Any suggestions on format etc welcome as we're new to this!

May was mentioned at the AGM as a good month to hold the event, perhaps the last weekend of the month as there is no SRCA event on the following week so you might tempt a few other people up to race. 2wd and 4wd used to run on seperate days before but as this is the first off road event in a few years i think it would be fair to assume there wont be enough racers to justify seperate days for each class so a one day event with seperate heats for each class would be sufficient. Off road used to run 4 heats 1 final, cant remember if it was ftq or round by round qualifying tho. Dont know what format the brca use these days.

I spoke to a few people about off road at the indoor gp and they all seemed pretty keen to race at an off road event again. I presume all of the old equipment for setting out a track is there, what about jumps?

hi
sounds good - it might be a good idwea to post on the falkirk forums as they are the only club still regularly racing buggies and this might raise numbers

Bt,

Date sounds like a good plan.

The grass bumps can be used as jumps and we'll set up a few wooden boards too, we still have fire hose, cones and tyres!

Chris,

Will do, spread the word around your clubs please!

What type of off-road vehicles are going to be racing ? i.e 1/10th stadium trucks, nitro buggies etc...

Although i seem to be the only one saying anything about this, but the 1/18th stadium trucks are starting to catch on-losi mini t and associated RC18t kits. Anyone who thinks they are too small should consider that these trucks can go very fast, my mini t prob goes about 30 mph in my garden. I think a 1/18th scale class would be great fun. Of course i wasnt at the AGM so if i'm completely ignored i wont moan too much ;)

Anyone who has any thoughts about this please say, thanks.

Nobody's opinion will be ignored Jamie.

It all depends on hwo many we get for each class - I doubt there would be that many to justify a 1/18th truck race but I could be wrong. Electric off road will be the flavour of the day due to running retrictions and if we have all classes running it will be a busy enough day.

Think the best think to do is start a poll seeing what classes to run, the classes could be:

1/10th 2wd electric buggy
1/10th 4wd electric buggy
1/10th electric Stadium truck
Electric monster truck (Emaxx etc)
1/18th mini trucks.

Any further suggestions welcome

Now I just need to work out how to create a poll....

Click on the "new thread" button as you normally would and at the bottom of the page just above the "submit new thread" button click the option to "Yes, post a poll with this thread" and choose how many options you want. Click the "submit new thread" button then you will be asked to enter your poll options.
