Does the SD come standard with Tungsten carbide diff balls or Steel??

Is tungsten carbide the best for smooth diff action or is ceramic....! I do see that ceramic balls cost almost as much as the car.... !!

i think it just comes with normal ones (Steel), there isn't any difference in them, just that tungsten carbide ones wil last a bit longer.
more of an issue in nitro really i think

The tungsten ones will take some seroious abuse, the ceramic ones are really really really really light :) But can be quite brittle, so don't overtighten your diffs!!!!!

Over the (far too many) years I've been racing I have found that standard steel balls are the best!!!

Here's my logic .....

most manufacturs use too soft a material for the diff plates ( the exception being the OLD Kyosho cars .. don't know if that still holds true) and so hard diff balls just eat plates alive and make the diff fell naff.

If you use a softer ball the plates last longer but the balls wear faster. So what!!! You have had to take the diff apart to change the plates anyway and you have had maybe 3 times the diff life between 'services'!!!!!!!!!!!

If your interested in trying it then I suggest you use the plain steel balls by a certain company begining with L that I can't bring myself to type!!! Their balls are top quality (more than can be said for most standard steel balls!!!) and cheap at something like £1.35 a pack! WEll they have to be able to make something right don't they!!!!! ;)
