I am new to electric. I just bought a used Team Factory TC3 ;D . I already have a good ESC (Novak GT7), I have a few questions....
How do I know what pinion/spur to use???
There are so many 3000 and 3300 batery packs, and they cost a lot. How do I know what is good and what is not???
What else should I know or look for????

If your using a 12T modified I'd try a 26/72.
Try this and see, depends a lot on motor type and track size.
GP 3300 are the best. Yokomo do good ones, nice price 2!

Gearing depends on motor (performance & condition) and track size...
I would only use Mark's recommendation on a fairly large track (West London for example)
As the track becomes smaller, the gearing should adjust to reflect this, so a small indoor track (say 20m x 10m) would be 20/21 pinion for a 12t.
For a stock motor, increase the number of teeth on the pinion by 4. Always run a smaller pinion than you need to start with, it prevents overgearing the motor.
Also, I got my cells from Doom...very nice!

I was going to get the Reedy 19t spec motor. The silver one. I want to race on an indoor track in Harrogate. I have not been there yet.

Christ Dave !! when was the last time you raced a big track ? if you think 26x 72 is big gearing the 32x 69 we use would make your nose blead ;D ;D

haha very true bob.
i would say try soemdifferent brushes trinity 4499's and 4503's seem to work very well with superstock, good life too.
concerning batterys: mached batterys are what you need, no stick packs. a good pack of 3300 cells can cost about £50-£60 and will require assembly (most shops can do this for you if you request). i use TRINITY vis-mached cells and Reedy X-Cells these really super cells, i love them. i also have some yokomo 1s there exelent, have a good price too.
