Hi mate,
Sound a little over geared there, I have that as an overall ratio of 6.67. Try coming down to a 25 pinon. really need to know the size of track to get a better idea.
Cheers

i would say about 72/25 an go from there. remember stock motors do get hot anyway. its the brushes an comm that needs checking. if u can hold ur finger on there for more than 10seconds ur undergeared wheres under 5 u are over geared. that should be ok be remember its always better to undergear than overgear so start low.

i'd be inclined to say 24/69 as it looks quit twisty but if the layout cahnges then play arount the 24-26 mark, you want your car to get up to ''max speed'' about 1/2 - 2/3 of the way down the staright, and again dont worry too much about the heat, it is all in the comm + brushes as phil said. do you skim the motor regually? as not having it skimmed for ages can lead to over heating. also dont use the clip on heat sink and this restricts air flow to cool the motor, which is very important especially indoors.

Hi,
I run a TC3 on Primafelt at Chippenham (5 min races) and normally vary between a 72/23 or 72/24 gearing dependednt on twistyness. Think everyone runs pretty much the same there.
I've never had a motor heat problem.....
In fact skimmed my Orion Stock Core today and there was next to no heat damage.

I say swap the pinion with the spur!

I also recommend u try 25/72 or less cause it looks like alot of tight corners there an that will give u better accelleration

of all the tracks i race on in wales, my gearing is always between 24/72 and 26/72 with a 27T*1 stock motor and find that it always feels punchy infield but fast down the straight.

I would say a 72/25 would be good. It should give good acceleration with a good top speed.
