Venom Mini Giant bearings

Hi having just got a mini Giant it seems very slow and as if something is binding
i have the bearing set to fit do they seem to be very tight when new or do you all think it could be a problem elsewhere
ie pinion or something

looking at the breakdown it looks quite complex to fit the bearings is it or is it all quite simple when you get started
