As far as i know Dan Watson is running the RDX in the open class at the BRCA meetings, i stand to be corrected on this though.
Dont know who else is racing one yet.

Yes we will be doing Open at both, BRCA and BTCC.
How have you guy's found the car, Dan thinks it's fantastic?
Have you run it outside yet?
Seems to be a lot of positive feedback from the States and Europe.

RDXs cleaned up in Finland last weekend. Have a look at the Corally web page.
We don't run their cars in TC at the moment but we run their motors and cells and swear by them.
But the RDX is certainly tempting us.

Ok now i have built my RDX i have come across a problem , where do i add all the extra weight to get it from 1410g to over the 1500g BRCA min weight limit :p oh to have such problems :D :D
anton
02-02-2005, 03:34 PM
I put 80g in the front bumper, as far back as possible.
You can get the PT in there as well, behind the weights.
Then if it needs more, you can fine tune the balance of the car by putting it were it is needed.

had a little "incident" picked up wrong transmitter, changed xtal in wrong transmitter, then put wrong moudule back in my transmitter, happens to the best of us i suppose :p

Brilliant showing by RDX at the Snowbirds. Looks like this is the car of the future.
I scrutinised one on the Corally stand at the Nuremburg fair. What a jewel. I also saw the copy and can't help but wonder why guys rave so much about engineering and quality.....of the copy, I mean.
You'll find both aplenty in the RDX, and they weren't copied either.
Jonny Aird

Just a shame that the "copy" won expert 19t and expert mod at the snowbirds and what did the RDX win?
How is the Xray a copy when they have just taken the original FK, dropped the layshaft and put the motor on one side.
Maybe you can't help wonder why people rave so much about the quality of the Xray, because you have never had one?
Im not saying the Corally is a bad car at all, Ive heard a lot of good things about it. Although I cant see how you can take the **** out of the Xray if youve never had one, and why bother in a corally thread?
NOTE FROM ADMIN - watch the language please

Hi John,
If you look at the original Xray and the corally c4.1 you will see they are virtually the same design. You could argue that the corally have copied the schumacher with a low down motor. Schmacher touring cars have had the motor directly on the chassis for ages.

I'm super pleased with my RDX. It makes my driving look a lot better than it really is.
Bearing in mind I have never seen any of the top drivers live, I've read a comment Jilles could drive a shoe box with wheels, and do well. I think the driver not the "Copy" won 19t and mod!
Looking forward to experiencing different tracks on your side of the world, whilst remembering we pack up at the hint of wet weather. Unfortunately our arrival has been delayed until August/Sept. I'll bring all my junk. Pleased to see your importer carries all RDX parts in stock.
Cheers

FAO 'Paul_U'
Hello, I'm hoping to take my brand spanking new RDX carpet racing next week. The car is currently set-up as per the instructions. If you don't mind telling, what would you recommend I change for a bumpy tight carpet track?
Cheers Ears

If your interested, Paul_U was at DMS today and held 19T FTQ for rounds 1,2 & 3, norrowly lost it in 4, started 2nd overall. I think you will find he has been quite pleased with the car.......but I'll let Paul tell you himself....

As Mike has said, i am very pleased with the car, best ive ever driven in nearly 10yrs of racing, and ive used A LOT of cars
I would start on kit setup, i used this for a few meetings when i started using it and was spot on, although i did change to 3' rear toe (as suggested by Mike ;) ) but i would leave it on kit set up for now, and change things if/and you feel its neccesery, but one step at a time so you know what difference it has made.
The car is a little fragile on the backend when you have heavy impacts, but you get that with any car.
Let us know how it goes JonboyGB
If you would like i can send you my setup i ended on after todays meeting at DMS, its for a open, flat track, but i will be using it on wed/fri this week to see how it goes on smaller/bumpy tracks, but the kit setup is a very good starting point

Just to let you know just got back from racing, very tight indoor track (racingdrome), had pretty much same setup on as DMS, i added 3' rear toe instead of the 2' and changed bodyshell (from mazda to cadillac), got FTD and won the final by over a lap
Car was supurb, although i will be making a purchase of alloy wishbones

Nice one Paul.
Still not got around to racing mine yet as it was far too cold last weekend, looks like the opening round of the STCC will be my first chance to use the car in anger.

Yet another FANTASTIC outing with RDX, got FTD by over a lap, and won the final by 3 laps.

Nope still not tried mine fully yet , working nights and being an outdoor only racer means i get very few chances to do any test with the type of weather we are having right now.
With some luck i will get some track time next week and maybe even a club meeting at Bedworth on the 6th as i really need to get myself back upto pace as i have only raced once in the last eight months or so.
Good to hear you are having such good results with yours.

At long last i got to run my RDX in anger today at bedworth despite it just being a degree or two above freezing. Using old cells that have only been used once in the last eight months and a stock motor straight out of the packet i still managed to set FTD and win both legs of the finals.
Found the car to have loads of turn-in even in such cold conditions and running on D20 treaded tyres. I was suffering some oversteer coming out of mainly slow corners before i could even get on the power. Played around with droop on the rear , 19lb springs on the front , slightly tighter front diff , and moved the rear inner camber link positions out one hole.
Once i got inot the finals i was flying with the car and it was going into the corners like a dream , still got plenty to try yet. After this first run im looking forward to some warmer weather and better grip conditions to really see what this car can do.

Good to hear you finally got to run the car John, sounds like she runs as good outdoors as she does in.
JonBoyGB have you tried yours yet??
