Hi All,

This is my first post to RCRACECHAT! Anyway, just got myself a brand spanking new TRF 415 MS (ive got a TC3 right now) and just wondered who else in the UK has got one?

And I also wanted to know how to attach batteries?? It looks like people use tape? But doesnt it stick to the batteries? Ive got something called 'glass tape' on order from tamiya.. but ive no idea what it is? Am I being very dumb here??

Also Tamiya forgot to put a rear Ball Diff Pulley. (part no 51055) in the box :( so I am waiting for a replacement from hong kong! could take 15 days, anyone have a spare for sale? or know somewhere quicker to get one? am desperate to get it racing (its all built apart from the rear diff)

Anyway apart from that the TRF is one of the nicest engineered cars ive come across, I was going to go for the XRAY .. but I think I have made the right decision..

Cheers,

I've just got a 415ms. done 1 race with it. I use some XENON tape available from most shops abrouad or from centrepoint in the uk. it available in BLUE!!! to match the car.

as for sticking to the cells, the modern cells are shrinkwrapped so the labels are covered so the tape won't stick to most cells.

The only thing i don't like are the alu turnbuckles. bent one on my first outing. now changed to ti ones.

there are a number of places that you can buy parts fromt that'll be quicker than the 15days you quoting, however they aren't in the uk, as the biggest problem with running the car over here is the (lack of) support from the distributor.

I've personally been running a 415 for over 6 months now, it really is a great car (and demon fast..in the right hands). When i was getting a new car i consider both the Xray FK, and the HPI Pro4, before finally plumping for the 415, because i wanted to be different. Guess it's paid off ;)

BTW I've got a number of useful bits for the 415 on a page on my website.
DELETED BY ADMIN
There are a number of setups on there, both for the std car, and the one with the lightwieght suspension (like your MS).
Also a gearing chart (for 64dp gears) and toe-block chart (shows the various angles you can get with different toe blocks)

HiH, and welcome to the the blue corner

Some nice person from DELETED BY ADMIN just sorted my pulley problem! hurrah! May even get a chance to race it this wednesday now!

Ed, I had already found your website :) and downloaded all the setups already ;) (blue & white springs now on order....) so many thanks for that!

Just going to take a few weeks of getting it setup as well as my TC3 currently is... but I think its going to run much sweeter :)

I'm sorry rob, I fail too see how that was advertising?
My site is simply a place for me to share information about the 415, I make no money out of it (i pay for the webspace, and maintain it myself), and I'm not affiliated to any shops, and i don't sell anything through it... is there something I'm missing here?

Loolllololol, Hi Al,i plan to come and win the next round with our new support. The TRF like others cars is very good....No time to test yet, hopefully our MAN aka Fab is the one to test everything....I hope to receive battery and others stuff on time....

I enjoyed last time,...i were testing and racing the car for the first time, my crap result is due to my own fault....I do not practice for long but 2005-2006 are going to be my years....

Sino do you like the choice of TRF415....We've been on the dance to know the ONE...but i think it's the best choice. And i followed your previous results.....And you look like you are a bit fighting with the car,...i just hope you are going to give me the good AL and result for the futur.....

PS : Nickhalstead,if you are struggle or have any problem, we will be please to help you out and solved your problem and welcome wih the TRF.....Any support, anything you want feel free to leave me a PM.

See ya John.

Last night was my 4th outing with the TRF, I now have the non-oneway centre diff, the lightweight belts and a few other minor hop-ups (plus an xray strap for batteries).

I think I finally nailed the setup last night (I will post a setup sheet somewhere) for a tight carpet track, I made some major changes using A->B front for extra toe out, which made a massive different but kept the stability really well.

Anyway cut a long (boring) story short I got into the top 3 for the first time at my club. So heres to FTD soon!

Still waiting for the front spool to come avail to order, as i'd like to see how that would improve things.
