I just got my replacement TI FK for the start of this season and have noticed a couple of differences to my original evo 2 Factory Kit.

The top deck is a different shape, obviously the old cutaways are not needed and were a hang up from the older T1 with top pivot pins.

More importantly the top deck seems to be made out of the same carbon as the chassis, whereas before if you held it up to the light you could see a yellowish tinge that looked like there was an ammount of kevlar in the top deck weave.

But the front shock tower is very different. I have just got my car handling good on the old one and now i cannot use the top pivot hole that i used to. All but one of the new holes seem to have the effect of raising the front roll centre as they are further out and lower than before. The old hole is situated between the inner two of the new tower.

However the setup sheet does not show this change and only the original holes are shown, so does anybody know where to mount the top inner link now, on the new tower? (standard carpet kit type setup)

I might be able to help if you tell me the part number as there is so many front shock towers it is hard to keep up.

If you have the 4 hole shock tower (302096) with the new camber link positions then I have been using the most outer, upper hole on carpet with the rear camber link in the bulkhead on the rear and this seems to be working quite well.

If you want my full carpet setup I will try emailing you it??

Its hard to say as the manual is not updated. But from the parts list 04.01 the number appears to be 30 2097.

It has the four holes in a sideways 'L' shape. The outer holes overhang the front bulkhead unlike the original mounts. :)

Errrr.....302097 is the composite shock tower mate   ;) . I believe you have the 302096 as you have described the 'L' shape of the camber link positions. I use as described above the outer, upper hole.

For part numbers etc I use the www.teamxray.com website and just put the description or part number in the search facility.

I can email you my setup for this if you an email address?

Sorry my fault :p , I took composite to mean the carbon fibre/epoxy normal one. I assumed the nylon/carbon one would be called plastic shock tower.

So I think the number you said is correct even though it is not on my list. :)

I've just started building my FK and I don't want to sound thick but with this new shock tower I can on use the inner most hole to mount the linkage becuase anything towards the outer most holes causes the wheels to sit at about 45 degrees.

One suggestion has been to buy a smaller turnbuckle and trim the cups a little to be able to use these outer most holes.

I use the outer holes just fine on mine, I don't think i could make them much shorter than they are but they do fit

The kits come with different front shock towers now. They are not the same as the one shown in the manual.
