Just getting used to my new SD and am having trouble getting the droop even on the front. I have been trying to set it at 5.5 and can get this on one side but not the other. So first check was the shocks both set to the same overall length then I backed off the droop screws till the didnt touch at all and still found nearly 2mm difference side to side. I then removed the shocks put the car on blocks and measured from top shock mount to the ground, lower wishbone to the ground and axel to the ground all gave the same measurement on each side.
Clearly either something is out or I am making one of those silly errors that qualifys me for the muppet of the week award but I'm lost now
Ideas anyone??

i found mines to be the same! ....
but all i did was lower my droop value to 3mm at the front.....didnt seem to affect the handling of the car much as you can adjust to compensate in other areas..........(as im sure you know!....lol)

showing my ignorance here but I have never touched droop angle (not even totally sure what it is) can someone PM me what this is all about or point me in the direction of a web page.

Hi all,
This is a classic issue with the SD, it's just that the shock length too small. Unscrew the adjuster to set the shock length to 62 / 63 mm instead of 60 mm as shown in the instruction manual.
That"s all

Already have the shocks at 63.5 but cannot get 5.5 droop on one side although ok on the other which is what started me measuring in the first place

i runa sd. i have my shocks roughly 62mm long all round. on the front i run the shock position:
front:
bottom far inner
top, manual standard
rear:
bottom second to inner
top manual standard
i have my droop screws just about 2mm sticking out of the bottom. you may find they may not reach the chassis, if they don't. just set them so they are just touching it (do this with the car off the ground, in your hand say)
hope it helps

By the way, Bosscat how do you measure your droop ? Is it the highest ride height or is it the rebound (ie : amount of suspension travel available when the car is at ride height). Indeed there are lots of way do measure the droop, but I recommend using the gauge given with the car. That way, you will be sure to have the same setting than other SD users.
For your information, I have a maximum ride height (given by my droop screws, which means I can have more ride height) of 8 mm. Using the setup gauge, I have 8 mm given by the head of the kingpin screw.
This is far enough if your ride height is 5 mm.
Hope this helps.

BOSSCAT. Greetings from Malta.
I'm afraid it's no give me giving you our local settings for they will only confuse.
We did a couple of meetings in England last August and found we had to change all our settings. Our is no Royal we, but son Josh who drives a TC3 and myself.
We ended up with our cars set just like the top Uk boys and they worked in UK. But they don't work here with those settings. In fact we have to run everything alot softer here, and with lots more droop.
I have my droop on the Yoke set at 3 front and 1 rear.
Sorry I can't be of much help.
regards
Joe from sunny Malta.
